Truckload (TL) Freight
These carriers specialize in the loads that are from major weight 10,000 pounds or more or major proportions. Also, they are transporting this type of goods on long distances. What is specific about this type of transportation? The freight has two points. The first point is when the load is picked (The Shipper) and the second point is the point where the load is delivered (Purchaser).

The truck is not forced to stop in between places to pick up other goods because there is no space for other goods except the goods that are already in the trailer. Hauling a truck that is full of goods from one purchaser has positive sides like:
- Quick transportation
- No need of in between stops
This kind of transport is the best way of getting the goods as soon as possible.
Less than truckload (LTL)
This kind of transportation is opposite from the truckload. The less than truckload implied that the truck driver needs to transport at least two loads in the same trailer. In most of the cases, the number of loads for different purchasers is more than 2.
The truck driver is forced to stop in different places to take the freight and for that, he needs more time. He needs to start from point A to get to the point B. After the arrival to the point B, he needs to wait for the truck to be loaded and prepared for transportation. From that point B, he needs to go to the point C to pick up another load and the same procedure to wait for the freight to be loaded and secured before he turns the keys and drives the truck to the point D…

I know that you get my point but still it isn’t over. After he picks the loads from every shipper now he needs to transport those loads to the purchasers. Anyway, maybe not in that order but however he needs to visit all of the places where the freight will be unloaded from the trailer.
However, there is never need of just Truckload or just Less than truckload and the best trucking companies in Texas that managed to perform both of these types succeeded to place the company to a higher level.
Now I also want to explain little more the General and the Specialized Freight Trucking. I mentioned this type of freight in most of the companies and what that means?
