Because of the driver turnover, trucking companies are constantly advertising and recruiting new drivers.
And, almost all of the trucking companies are offering truck driver signing bonuses. As an incentive to attract drivers, they offer them to van and flatbed drivers, team drivers, tanker drivers, reefer drivers and pretty much all types of truck drivers.
It is in the nature of people to like money. Especially”free money” or what seems to be “free money” anyway!
So, same goes for the truck drivers. They like the idea of having that chunk of free money as a truck driver signing bonuses. But, my advice to you is to always make clear about the payment terms and conditions in regards to the bonuses you expect.
Read and understand the payment terms outlined by the trucking company you sign with, and never forget to read the small print of the bottom of the contract! In that few rows might have more explanation then there is in the entire contract!
