All of this information may be tough for the new truck drivers to cope with, but everything takes time, right? Same as the schedule, the HOS has its road challenge weight. Sometimes, with their tough schedule, the drivers have to deal with a few rules:
- Checking if cargo is safely packed
- Driving for 11 hours
- Secure drive and delivery of cargo
Furthermore, according to the U.S Department of Transportation, there are other working hour rules that unlike these are created for the drivers as well.
- The drivers that work in the long-distance routes must rest every 10 hours after every driving of 11 hours
- Also, there is a rule which states that it is not desirable for a driver to work more than 60 hours in one week. These rules are made for the sake, safety, and rest of the drivers.
Sometimes, can be hard to plan your time when you are all scheduled out. However, there are times when the unplanned HOS come up due to the traffic. The fact is you never know what awaits you on the road which is why people have a name for it – the road challenges.
