15 Tips for Truck Driving in Winter Weather

Usually, some fresh air or something to drink or eat can help you stay awake and focus till the next stop. But if you’re actually sleepy then you need to find a safe place to pull over and rest.

Avoid alcohol and medications that make you drowsy before driving, and try to get plenty of rest (6-8 hours). Here are a few signs that you might be a risk of driving drowsy: frequent yawning, blurred vision, hard to concentrate, heavy eyes, and spacing/zoning out (not actually sleeping just unaware for a few moments).

That is all it takes, is a quick moment and you could be in a serious accident, so as I said get plenty of rest, don’t skip meals, and take naps as needed.
