- Aluminum repair sticks: Aluminum radiator leaks can be temporarily repaired very easy when on the road with use of aluminum radiator repair stick. They are very easy to use, but how successful the fix will be depends largely on the radiator condition and the preparation of the surface you wish to repair. Stic-Tite is one of the various products you can find pretty much anywhere and use for a cheap radiator repair.
- Radiator leak additive, or radiator stop leak: When there are no other available options, you can use the radiator stop leak as a last resort. I do not advise you to use stop leak cause it can lead to other problems within your cooling system. But, in emergency situations on the road it may be the best (and sometimes only) choice for the situation. Stop leak may be used with problems like water pump gasket leak, or a hard to get radiator leak because some leaks cannot be slowed in any other may.
- Duct tape: No matter how weird it sounds, duct tape is a great cheap radiator repair if you have a hose leak. You can wrap the hose in duct tape and slow down the leak for a period of time. It may not actually stop the leak, but it will surely stop you from losing all cooling fluid till you get to the closest repair shop.
