There have actually been a few parodies and remakes, even an English version where all the American trucker slang is switched to their British counterparts.
5. Trucking Songs –“I’ve Been Everywhere”
Though made popular again by Johnny Cash in 1996, ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’ is actually an Australian song. It was written by Geoff Mack 1959 and performed by Lucky Star in 1962.
The original version even listed Australian towns! It went on to be performed by numerous other artists. But it was a Canadian, Hank Snow, who sang the popular Americanized version, rewritten by Geoff Mack in 1962. ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’ has since been adopted to represent almost every nation on the planet.
