On the bright side, after you do all this, take and pass the hazardous material test and get the endorsement on your CDL, you’ll be good for 5 years.
What is the Hazardous Materials Test?
What is the hazard materials test? Well, this is a bit tricky! It depends on what you’ll be transporting and who is giving the test. No really! There is some standardization with the hazardous materials test but remember each state is in control of testing and issuing endorsements.
But here are a few of the basic details involved with the test
In a nutshell the hazardous materials test gives you the necessary endorsement(s) to transport hazmat. Just like the CDL gives you the proper license to operate commercial vehicles.
You might be thinking: – I am safe driver why bother? Well for one, you might be but is everyone else? And two, – can you control the weather and other natural actions!?
No of course not, so you need to have a hazmat practice test and be properly trained on how to properly handle hazmat issues. These can include all kinds of situations such as spills.
