I know you’ve seen the commercials, swerving the cones and driving down a nicely marked ‘road’.
Well in the real world that is only part of it. The other part is where you spent lots of hours in studying. That’s right, reading and taking notes and taking a test. After all this called truck-driving SCHOOL.
There are a lot of things you’ll have to study. You’ll go over the US Department of Transportation (DOT), and other applicable laws. You’ll go over the logs and how to properly fill them out. If you are planning on truck d CDL training in winter, that’s another story too!
Then you will also go over the truck. Yup! You have to be able to conduct pre-trip inspections and post-trip truck inspections.
This is something you will be tested on by the licensing authority, so you better believe the school is going to go over it.
