However, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there are still jobs requiring specialized training programs which include the crane operators.
Those programs go through community colleges, technical schools, training centers, or trade organizations.
Usually, there are students who complete the programs with a few sessions. This program includes three levels of training and they are the following:
- 1st Level – Hydraulic Cranes and Large Hydraulic Cranes
- 2nd Level – Lattice Boom Cranes and Articulated Boom Cranes
- 3rd Level- Tower Cranes and Digger Derricks
Designed to teach a candidate to safely operate a crane, it also helps them get the crane operator certification.
That certification is given to the candidates through the Nation Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO).
In addition, these training programs cover multiple topics, starting with the safety regulations to the machine maintenance.
