The New Cargo Securement Rules
As shown above, the updated cargo securement regulations are applicable to all kinds of cargo with particular exceptions involved.
These cargo securement systems must meet the additional requirements which I will describe bellow.
General Rule
The general rule is applying to the vehicles. Accordingly, the cargo must be secured by structure types of strength like dunnage, tie downs or dunnage bags.
Cargo Placement as well as Restrain
Regarding the cargo securement, it must be made by restraining and proper placement.
- Placed in a direct contact with each other
- Prevent from shifting or rolling towards while in transit
To demonstrate, cargo needs to be restrained by wedges, or other equivalents like checks or cradle, in order to prevent rolling.
