Truck Driver Health: 50 Tips to Stay Sharp on the Road

21. Truck Driver Health – Pick The Foods That Are More Natural

As I’ve stated earlier, try to go with baked foods, not the fried stuff. It is also recommended that you stick with the more natural things instead of the processed garbage that some places claim is a meat. A real baked potato (even with all the toppings) is better for you than fries and processed chicken fingers. Breakfast should be toast and eggs maybe bacon or something instead of prepackaged donuts or toaster pastries every day.

22. Truck Driver Health – Cutout The Soft drinks

Soda, pop, cola, soft drinks, soda-pop, or whatever you call it from your part of the country, is not good for you. Remember, Coke is used to clean battery cables, think of what that does to your stomach! Soda is sugary (or other sweetener) but it destroys the enamel on your teeth. Really it does nothing to hydrate you; it can actually have the opposite effect as caffeine actually dehydrates you. Instead you should try to drink water, juice, or other thirst quenchers.
