Conclusion
Most people don’t fully understand the full effect that traffic tickets can have. Once upon a time you could get a ticket in one state (even another county) and as long as you didn’t return there wasn’t much they could do. How times have changed since then! This nowadays, when they run your license, they have direct access to your entire driving record, regardless of where your license was issued.
Anyone who been in this industry has either received or heard about the numerous speeding tickets, overweight tickets, and log book tickets. These are just a sample of the citations truck drivers get.
It is actually this that spawned all the trucker versus authority movies that were so popular (especially in the 70’s). Trucking has been a part of the American dream since the first piece of freight was hauled out west. And so has the government’s need to regulate it.
Here is something else to consider. Over 5 million commercial trucks and buses must share the road with an estimated 250 million other vehicles. That is a lot of traffic! Just think how much freight must be transported across this great nation. The key is not only getting it to its destination, but getting it there safely and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Meaning no tickets! It might seem unlikely but it is possible.
