What Kinds of Companies Hire Dump Truck Drivers?
As I said dump truck drivers are mostly working in the Mining, Construction and landscaping sites, and some specialized trucking companies.
I am looking on daily bases through the industry trends and I know all about the US trucking secrets, so I can for sure tell you that dump truck drivers are a deficit and very needed!
When I am looking for the job vacancies in the industry, every day I see advertisements for dump truck drivers. Companies are in constant search and are advertizing for experienced operators of dump trucks. Most of them will take and trainees and have them trained, just because they were not able to fill the quota.
So yes, the demand is still there!
Another thing you can do when you first enter the industry is to get a trainee dump truck job and get experience by working for a smaller company, local contractor, or for your local council.
At the beginning, probably you’ll be operating machines that are smaller but you will be getting machine experience, and that’s what matters!
Furthermore, self-employing is a good option too. Same like you can own flatbed trailer rentals you can have one of the dump track rentals and start your own business. You can be owner operator too.
I am not saying this is the best idea but you can have it somewhere in the back of your burner if you feel ready for something like that.
Of course for that, you will need to have some saved capital up front or make the best trucking business plan and have the bank back you up! Good luck with that! My experience was not that great but I will tell you all about in one of my next articles!
